Mucho Modern Mexicano Restaurant – Central Tokyo (Station)

88

Situated within 10 minutes walk of central Tokyo station, on level 2 of the Tokia Building is Mucho Modern Mexicano. This casual dining restaurant focuses on atmosphere, taste and reasonably priced dishes, provided in a comfortable mucho Mexicano setting.

It is one of 4 similarly themed Mexican restaurants situated throughout the various and colorful districts of Tokyo, Mucho Modern Mexicano is the dressed down, easy going and more comfy personality of his group.

Whether on weekdays or weekends, I would recommend reserving a table as the seats fill up very quickly. Even if you head in early from 6pm onward, I always seem to find myself seated among a small crowd. As we approach the end of the year, it can also be extremely busy. This season is usually rife with 飲み会 (Nomikai – drinking parties) and 忘年会 (Bounenkai – end of year parties).

The staff at the restaurant are friendly, and as you enter there is a welcoming smile waiting to greet you. Usually, they are always hovering around from one table to the next, so it is easy to get their attention when you to order. The wooden shaped stools and tables, colorful bar and bright lights are all in tune with the Mexican theme too.

The Mucho Menu

Lunch begins at 11am from 1000 yen on weekdays or weekends from 1600 yen. During this time, you have an assortment of choices from their classic Tacos, Burritos, Fajitas, their daily special and more. The set menus also include soup and a free drink.

Dinner is a lot more flexible, as you are presented with considerably more choices. Their Guacamole is a highlight as you can select your own avocado, which they use to make the delicious green appetiser in front of you. Tacos start at 700 yen for 2, plus 350 yen for each additional. They also have the standard selection of Fajitas, Burritos, Tortias and the like with many tempting fillings. Finally, they have a range of salads and appetizers starting at as little as 300 yen.

Drinks are also match the spirit of the eatery, with Central American inspired mixers starting at 500 yen. Mojitos, Margaritas are Pina Coladas are all classic and refreshing options. Beer includes the very famous Corona or Sol (550 yen), with a selection of Japanese and other international brands. They also serve special versions of their Frozen Margarita and Sangria, available in a glass or to share.

Ultimately, Mucho Modern Mexicano is well worth your time in terms of food, drink and atmosphere. It is centrally located too, in the heart of the Tokyo CBD a short stroll from Tokyo Station. We strongly recommend this dining experience as one of the better offerings in the area!
